A day-by-day feel
(6 Nights / 7 Days)

Day 1

Arrive Srinagar and transfer to a Dal Lake houseboat. A relaxed Shikara ride on Dal Lake in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight on the houseboat.

Day 2

After breakfast drive to Pahalgam via saffron fields, Avantipur ruins and Anantnag. Enjoy the valley. Dinner and overnight in Pahalgam.

Day 3

Drive to Gulmarg. Ride the Gondola cable car to Kongdoori and Marry Shoulder and enjoy the meadows and snow in season. Dinner and overnight in Gulmarg.

Day 4

Drive back to Srinagar and visit the Mughal gardens — Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Hazratbal and Shankaracharya. Overnight in Srinagar.

Day 5

Day excursion to Sonmarg along the Sindh river. Optional pony ride towards Thajiwas glacier. Return to Srinagar for overnight.

Day 6

Day excursion to Doodhpathri, the "valley of milk" — quiet alpine meadows in the Pir Panjal range. Return to Srinagar for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar airport for your flight home.

Best time to visit Kashmir from Kerala?

April–June for flowers and pleasant days, September–October for golden chinar autumn, December–February for snow. We plan around what you want to feel.

How do flights from Kerala work?

Kochi/Calicut/Trivandrum to Srinagar via Delhi, typically 6–8 hours door to door. We suggest the smoothest routing and fares for your dates before you book.

Will food be a problem?

No. We arrange hotels and restaurants with rice-based and familiar options, and flag pure-veg needs ahead. Kahwa and wazwan tasting are optional adventures.

Is Kashmir safe for families and honeymooners?

Tourist circuits — Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg — are busy, welcoming and well-serviced. Your planner stays reachable 24×7 and adjusts plans live if anything changes.

Can I customise the itinerary?

That's the only way we work. Dates, pace, hotels, budget — every journey is built from a conversation, not a shelf.

Kashmir travel tips — before you go

A few pointers from our Kochi team so your first Kashmir trip feels easy, safe and well planned.

Clothing

Pack layers, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes and extra warm clothing for Gulmarg and snow spots. What you need depends on your travel season.

Money & payments

UPI and cards work in most tourist areas, but carry some cash for remote spots and small expenses.

Food

Hotels serve a mix of Indian and Kashmiri cuisine. Prefer Kerala / South-Indian food? Tell us while planning and we'll pick suitable stays.

Altitude

Gulmarg and other mountain spots sit at higher elevations. Stay hydrated, take it easy and avoid overexertion when you first arrive.

Pony rides

Pony rides are optional. Always confirm the route and price before you start.

Gulmarg Gondola

One of Kashmir's must-do experiences. Tickets are subject to availability and weather, so plan this in advance.

Weather

Kashmir's weather changes by season and varies between Srinagar and the mountains. Road journeys and activities may occasionally change.

Good to know — terms & conditions

Vehicles run as per the itinerary and are not at personal disposal. AC works in the plains and is switched off on hill drives.
All sightseeing is subject to weather, road, traffic and local conditions. Anything missed due to weather or natural causes is non-refundable.
Entry fees, pony rides, gondola tickets and union-vehicle charges are paid directly on site unless clearly listed as included.
Transfers and sightseeing are on an 08 hrs / 80 km per-day basis and do not include night driving.
Stays are subject to availability. If a listed hotel is unavailable, a similar-category alternative is arranged.
Pick-ups before 06:00 or after 22:00 may carry a small surcharge.
During heavy snow (mid-Dec to Feb/Mar) vehicles may run only up to Tangmarg; a chain-fitted jeep to Gulmarg is arranged on direct payment.

Cancellation policy

45+ days before check-in — 15% of tour cost.
29–14 days before check-in — 45% of tour cost.
13–8 days before check-in — 75% of tour cost.
Within 7 days or no-show — 100% of tour cost.
Confirmed hotel bookings carry a 10% administration fee on cancellation. Blackout dates (peak season / festivals / New Year) may have special terms.
Refund timelines depend on your bank. Please raise any cancellation with Lumiere Holidays within 24 hours of your request.
